From this SJCAM Press release: http://www.prlog.org/12487436-new-sj...announced.html

The SJCAM SJ5000x is scheduled to released some time in September. The first SJ5000x batch will be a limited edition release of only 1000 units. The limited edition SJ5000x batch will use current SJ5000+ plus OmnVision lens but 2nd release batch will use Sony image sensor.

We just got word from the Official SJCAM website, SJCamHD.com that a newer SJCAM SJ5000x is now in the works. The SJ5000x will improve on the SJ5000+ plus by adding special Gyro anti-shake function, 2K @ 30fps + 1080p @ 60fps video record, large 2.0" LCD screen (current LCD sreen is only 1.54 inches), and upgraded lens.

The first batch will be a limited edition release of around 1000 units. This limited edition batch should be released some time in September. After the first batch of SJ5000x, SJCAM will ramp up production for the full spec SJ5000x. We are guessing this will be late September.

Rumors are that the SJ5000x will have upgraded 16 megapixel Sony IMX078 sensor. This will make the SJ5000x a formidable competitor to the Polaroid Cube or GoPro Hero4. Other cool addictions that could be a recording indicator in the back.

The chipset has also yet to be disclosed but it will probably be the Novatek NTK96660 cpu.

Other cool features will be real-time AV-out in HD (can view recording real time on both SJ5000x LCD and on Monitor), HDR (high dynamic range), and 5 new supported languages. These added SJ5000x features are similar to the upgrade in the newly released SJCAM M10+ Plus.

There will probably be other cool upgrades on the SJ5000x plus. To stay informed on all the latest SJCAM news, stayed tuned to the SJCAM blog here:
